Crochet your own mama opossum and her babies with this easy crochet pattern! The best part is the mama opossum has a pouch for her three little babies to snuggle in! This pattern includes 1 PDF file loaded with progress pictures, detailed instructions and video tips for how to assemble the mama opossum and her babies.
The following stitches are used in this pattern: chain, single crochet, slip stitch, increase stitch, and single crochet decrease stitch (these last 2 stitches are explained in the pattern).
Materials you will need:
• Crochet hook size: 5 mm
• #6 super bulky weight yarn: white (35 yds/32 m), gray (175 yards/160 m), black (20 yds/19 m), and light pink (25 yds/23 m)
• #4 medium weight acrylic yarn: 1 yd/1 m of each - light pink (for the babies’ noses), black (for the eye detail), gray (to sew in the pocket), black (to sew on the ears and for babies’ eye detail)
• Yarn needle
• One pair of 18 mm safety eyes, 3 pairs of 12 mm safety eyes
• Polyester fiber fill stuffing
• Scissors

The finished mama opossum (with tail outstretched) measures 15 in/38 cm long. The baby opossums measure 6 in/15.24 cm long (with tails outstretched).
