This is a pattern PACK! Included in this listing are the digital patterns for 4 Australian animals: a kangaroo and baby, koala, hatching baby platypus, and a realistic no-sew platypus. All 4 patterns will be available as separate downloadable PDF patterns after your purchase.
Here are the materials you will need to make each of these patterns:
KANGAROO & BABY
• Crochet hook size: H/5 mm
• #6 super bulky weight yarn: brown (4.6 oz needed/131 grams), plus 1 strand of pink for the cheeks, and 1 strand of white for the eye detail
• #4 medium weight yarn: 2 strands of black for the noses
• 1 pair of 18 mm black safety eyes, 1 pair of 12 mm for the baby
• Polyester fiber fill stuffing
• Yarn needle, scissors, straight pins (optional - for marking the nose detail before sewing)
When made with a 5 mm hook and #6 super bulky weight yarn, final measurement for the finished kangaroo is 12 inches (or 31 cm) tall.
KOALA
• Crochet hook size: 5 mm, 8 mm (optional, for blanket accessory)
• #6 super bulky weight yarn: gray (100 yds/92 m needed), dark gray (10 yds/10 m needed), and white (20 yds/19 m needed), optional: green, for blanket accessory (50 yds/46 m needed)
• #4 medium worsted weight yarn: 1 strand of white and 1 strand of black (for the eye detail)
• 1 strand of black embroidery floss (for the eyebrows; black yarn can also be used)
• Yarn needle
• 18mm black safety eyes
• Polyester fiber fill stuffing
When made with a 5 mm hook and #6 super bulky weight yarn, final measurement for the finished koala is 6 inches/15.25 cm tall.
HATCHING BABY PLATYPUS
• Crochet hook size: 5mm
• #6 super bulky weight yarn: brown (for the body) and charcoal (for the bill and feet)
• #4 medium worsted weight yarn: 1 strand of black for the eyebrows (optional)
• 1 pair of 18mm safety eyes
• Polyester fiber fill stuffing
• Yarn needle
• Scissors
Materials for the egg (optional):
• Crochet hook size: 5 mm hook for making the egg with #6 super bulky weight yarn OR 6 mm for making the egg with #7 jumbo weight yarn
• #6 super bulky weight yarn OR #7 jumbo weight yarn: cream
• Button and sewing thread (optional)
When made with 5 mm hook and #6 super bulky weight yarn, the finished platypus measures 8.5 inches (or 21.5 cm) long.
NO-SEW PLATYPUS
• Crochet hook size: H/5 mm
• #6 super bulky weight yarn: brown for the body (90 yds/83 m needed) and charcoal or dark brown for the bill and feet (25 yds/23 m needed)
• 1 pair of 18 mm 3D trapezoid eyes or black safety eyes (see note 1)
• Polyester fiber fill stuffing
• Yarn needle, scissors, stitch marker
When made with #6 super bulky weight yarn and a 5 mm hook, the finished platypus measures 12.5 inches (or 32 cm) long. When made with #4 medium weight yarn and a 3.75 mm hook, the finished platypus measures 9 inches (or 23 cm) long.
