The following crochet stitches are used in this pattern: chain, single crochet, slip stitch, increasing and decreasing.
Materials You Will Need:
• Crochet hook size: G/4.00mm
• Worsted weight yarn: brown (or other color of your choice)
• Yarn needle
• One pair of 12 mm safety eyes* and one pair of 6 mm safety eyes
• Polyester fiber fill stuffing
• One strand of black embroidery floss (for smile and eyebrows)
• Soft wire brush for fuzzing the crochet spider – a dog or cat slicker works perfectly for this
• For the long-legged spider only: 3 pipe cleaners in a color similar to your spider’s color (also called chenille stems)
*Note: Safety eyes can be found on Etsy, Amazon, eBay, or your local craft store. The safety eyes are highly recommended, but they can be substituted with black buttons or yarn if you prefer.
Final measurement for the short-legged spider is 4 inches wide (10 cm) and 2.5 inches (6.35 cm) tall; final measurement for the longer-legged spider is 4.5 inches (11.5 cm) wide and also 2.5 inches tall.
