Create your own no-sew mega stingray with a pocket to store up to 7 (also no-sew) mini rays! This pattern set includes BOTH the mega ray and the mini ray PDF patterns.
The following crochet stitches are used in this pattern: chain, single crochet, increase stitch, and slip stitch.
Materials needed for the mega ray:
• Crochet hook size: 8 mm
• #7 jumbo weight yarn*: blue (101 yds/93 m) and white (131 yds/120 m), plus 1 yd/m of light pink for the cheeks
• Yarn needle
• 1 pair of 18-25mm safety eyes
*You can use any yarn weight to make this pattern with no changes necessary. Final measurement for the finished mega ray made with #7 jumbo weight yarn is 24 in/61 cm wide and 21 in/54 cm long. If you use #6 super bulky weight yarn, the finished ray will be 14 in/36 cm wide and 10 in/25 cm long.
Materials needed for the mini ray:
• Crochet hook size: 5 mm
• #6 super bulky weight yarn*: blue or gray (20 yards needed) and white (15 yards needed)
• 1 strand of black embroidery floss for the eyebrows and mouth
• Yarn needle
• 12mm black safety eyes
• Polyester fiber fill stuffing
*For this pattern, I used #6/super bulky weight yarn. You can also follow the pattern as written using your yarn weight of choice. A ray made from this pattern with #4/medium weight yarn will be 4 inches (10 cm) wide and 3.5 inches (9 cm) long.
Final measurement for the finished plush ray is 5 inches (12.5 cm) wide and 4.5 inches (11.5 cm) long.
